MR. NOEL N. TATA Chairman, FDDI
Mr. Noel N. Tata is currently the Managing Director of Tata International Limited, Chairman of Trent Limited, Voltas Ltd. and Vice Chairman of Titan Company Ltd.
Before joining Tata International, he has worked with Trent Limited, Nestle (UK) and Tata Exports Limited (now Tata International Limited). In 1998, Trent took over the business of UK based company – Littlewoods India and renamed the store Westside. Noel has since overseen the growth of Trent across formats – from a one store operation in 1998 to over 250 stores across formats in 2018 – namely Westside (currently 146 department stores), Landmark (currently 5 leisure and family entertainment stores), Zudio (37 stores), Star Bazaar (currently 37 food and grocery hypermarkets and supermarkets in association with Tesco) besides the joint venture with Inditex to bring Zara to India (currently 24 stores). During this period, the consolidated turnover of Trent has increased from USD 2 mn to approximately USD 600 mn.
Having led Trent as Managing Director for more than 11 years, Mr. Tata was appointed the Vice Chairman of Trent Limited in 2012 and later as Chairman in 2014. He also took over as Managing Director of Tata International Limited in August 2010. Established in 1962, Tata International Limited is the premier trading arm of the Tata Group with presence in five key verticals: Leather and Leather products, Metals Trading, Minerals Trading, Agri Trading and Distribution. The company registered revenues in the region of USD 2 bn+ in FY 2017-18 and employs more than 10,000+ personnel spanning 25 countries in Africa, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Asia.
Mr. Tata was appointed Chairman of Voltas Ltd on September 1st 2017. He is also the Chairman of Tata Investment Corporation Limited and Tata Africa Holdings Ltd. Besides this, Mr. Tata has also been appointed as the Vice Chairman of Titan Industries Ltd. in 2018. He has been appointed as Trustee of Ratan Tata Trusts. Mr Tata is also on the board of Kansai Nerolac Paints and Smiths Plc. He is also the Chairman of Voltas’ Investors Grievance Committee and Member of the Tata Investment Corporation’s Investment Committee and Remuneration Committee.
Mr. Tata graduated from Sussex University (UK) and has completed the International Executive Programme (IEP) from INSEAD. He is the son of Mr. Naval H. Tata and Mrs. Simone N. Tata.
MR. ARUN KUMAR SINHA, IASManaging Director, FDDI
Mr. Arun Kumar Sinha, IAS (MN: 1999) has joined as the Managing Director of Footwear Design & Development Institute with effect from 11th July 2017.
Prior to joining FDDI, Mr. Sinha served as OSD (ADMIN) in India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO).
He has not only administrative experience of more than 18 years but also academically very enriched. He is a Chemical Engg. from IIT, Kharagpur and Masters in Public Policy & Management from London School of Economics & Political Science.
MR. VIKAS VERMA, IRSME Executive Director - FDDI Fursatganj
Mr. Vikas Verma has joined the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Fursatganj as ‘Executive Director’ from 26th February 2016.
Prior to joining FDDI, Mr. Verma was handling the charge of Divisional Mechanical Engineer at the esteemed Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME). He has been serving the Railway Services since 2010 and was heading the Diesel Training Centre, Jhansi.
Besides his services at the renowned Indian Railway Services, he has exceptional academic credentials; he is a Gold Medalist in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi. Apart from his engineering expertise, he is a splendid sports person with keen interest in Badminton, Billiards and Football.
His vision is to take FDDI to new heights and to improve it further as a centre of excellence.
MR. ASHOK KUMAR CHOUDHARY, IRSS Executive Director - FDDI Jodhpur
After having accomplished an overall rich experience of over 15 years, Mr. Ashok Kumar Choudhary, an officer of 2008 batch of the Indian Railways Stores Services (IRSS) has joined the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Jodhpur as ‘Executive Director’ from 28th October 2015.
Mr. Choudhary has been in service with the Indian Railway Store Services - North Western Railways Division since 2009. He pursued Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from JNV University Jodhpur in first division post which he was associated with the noble profession of education & teaching as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering for about 9 years, before joining the renowned Indian Railways Stores Services.
